Working Mom???
News to the Blogosphere: I am a working lady!
I am once again working as a journo for a few trade magazines. I'll write/ interview in the morning while James is at school and then will be at home for the kidlets in the afternoon. Very happy with the deal, especially with the fact that I'll be at home writing and don't have to go into the office much. Yippeee! Mags are for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry, food industry and packaging industry here in SA. Exciting stuff! ;)
It would really have been better if I could have delayed this opportunity until Kate was 2. But the working situation is so spectacular that I don't know if it could have been reproduced in a few years. Especially with me being out of the job market for 5 years and then attempting to waltz back into a part-time position, working from home! So, late nights will be the order of the day for a while, but I think it's worth it!
James is adjusting so well to school, it's actually crazy. Here sits his mother, all forlorn, imagining her poor son pining, sobbing, hysterical - and in fact James is having an absolute blast. He has asked to go to school every single morning and seems so comfortable to stay there, while mother again, slinks off, tears in her eyes and has to drown her sorrows in a latte (and not even Starbucks!). When I pick him up he gives me a quick hug and then dashes off to the circle of friends again or his activities. Such a relief!
Am dying to post a pic of my daughter's cheesy grin.... so adorable. She went for her shots yesterday and is a whopping 7,1kg at 11 weeks. That's big! As one of my friends exclaimed when I mentioned Kate's weight: 'oh, she's a pudding!' Tee hee. Quite right!
Lots of love to you all. Weather is all Seattle-y (well November Seattle, not August) and far too much good chocolate available. Oh my hat! I am going to try and discover my inner 'svelte' working lady persona in the next few weeks.
